Dependable fencing for Studley's family housing, with new panel runs, replacement posts, repairs after gales and gates that suit the regular, mostly twentieth-century gardens around the village.
Studley is a large village close to Redditch, and most of its housing dates from the twentieth century. Gardens are generally regular in shape, with long straight boundaries shared between neighbours and fences that were often all put up at roughly the same time.
That has a consequence. When one fence in a street starts to fail, the rest are usually not far behind. SPR Trees and Landscapes covers Studley for garden fence replacement, new installations and repairs. We can price a single boundary or look at the whole garden, and our free quotation will show clearly what is urgent and what could wait for another season.
Straight back-garden boundaries suit ready-made panels, and the key to a long life is the structure beneath them. We set posts at consistent centres, in concrete, and add concrete gravel boards so the lower edge never sits in damp soil. For estate-style gardens this is the sensible balance between cost and durability. Where the fence runs along a shared line, we check with you who is responsible and discuss it with the neighbour if you wish. A run of six or seven panels can be done in a day, depending on the state of the old fence.
Estates tend to be open, with few mature trees to break the wind. So when a gale arrives, a fence acts as a sail, and the weakest post goes first. We attend to fallen panels, snapped posts and runs leaning at an angle. Our advice is usually to replace the failed post, refit the panel, and check the next two or three posts for hidden decay. If a fence has been patched several times, a full run replacement is cheaper than another repair, and we say so honestly rather than selling you a quick fix.
For most family gardens the choice is between overlap panels, which are economical and quick, and closeboard, which is stronger and neater. Slatted or contemporary panels suit a patio area where you want a modern look. At the front, keep it low, with picket or post and rail. Side gates take a lot of wear, so choose a proper framed gate with strong hinges. We measure the opening, think about bins and bikes, and fit a gate that closes without a fight.
We work in Studley and across the area, including Redditch and Alcester. Because Studley is a large Warwickshire village with a lot of twentieth-century housing, many of the jobs we see share a pattern: long, straight boundaries, fences of similar age and neighbours who may want to do work at the same time. If you and next door both need new fencing, tell us, as it can sometimes make planning simpler. Contact SPR for a free quote.
We also take on garden fencing work in nearby Redditch, Alcester.

“Jim and Dan did a brilliant job on my 90ft conifer. Its a lot safer now and I have more light in the garden...”
“The boys did an excellent job... pruned my trees back and remove one tree that had split...”
“The guys were prompt & proffesional removed an old ash for me thanks guys”
If the damage is isolated and the other posts are firm, a repair is reasonable. If several posts are soft or leaning, replacing the run avoids paying for repeated callouts. We will test and advise.
Overlap is cheaper and quicker to fit, and fine for sheltered gardens. Closeboard is more robust and looks neater, so it is a better choice for exposed spots or where you want long life.
They can if both agree, though there is no automatic duty in most cases. We can price the work clearly so both sides know what is involved before deciding.
