Tree work in Tenbury Wells and the Teme valley, from garden trees in the town to large hedgerow and field-edge trees across the surrounding countryside on both sides of the border.
Tenbury Wells is a small market town, but the trees around it are anything but small. The Teme valley is full of large willows, oaks and poplars, and many properties on the edge of town back onto fields or the river. That brings its own considerations, from soft ground to overhead cables.
We offer tree surgery for Tenbury Wells homeowners, smallholders and landlords. After a visit, you receive a free quotation that sets out exactly what we plan to cut, how we will manage the waste, and any permissions you may need to check before we begin.
Trees near water grow fast, and willows in particular can put on a great deal of weight in a few seasons. Regular crown reduction and thinning keeps them in proportion, and lifting clears lanes, drives and paddock gates. Out here we often work on field-edge trees as well as garden specimens, which means different access and different priorities. Deadwood removal is a quiet but valuable job, especially over roads, yards and livestock areas where falling branches cause real problems.
Large poplars and old willows eventually reach the point where a full reduction is no longer enough. Removal is then safer, and in open settings we can often fell in larger pieces. Closer to buildings in town, we take them down in controlled sections. Overhead lines are a particular consideration in rural areas, so we note them on the visit. Because Tenbury Wells lies near a county border and a river, it is worth asking your local planning authority about any protection or conservation designations before work starts.
Many rural plots have a row of conifers planted for shelter that has now grown well beyond what anyone intended. We cut these in stages and then grind the stumps, giving you usable ground for planting, fencing or parking. Willow stumps can resprout vigorously, so grinding thoroughly matters more than with some species. Wet ground by the river may limit machine access in winter, so we may suggest a drier spell, and we will always explain why before suggesting a different date.
Tenbury Wells sits in the Teme valley on the Worcestershire and Shropshire border, so our work often crosses county lines. We cover Ludlow, Leominster, Bromyard and Bewdley as well, and many of our rural jobs involve a short drive up a country lane. If you are some way out of town, tell us roughly where you are and what the tree is like, and we will arrange a visit. Early contact helps in autumn, when storm damage tends to bring a rush of calls.
We also take on tree surgery work in nearby Ludlow, Leominster, Bromyard, Bewdley.

“Jim and Dan did a brilliant job on my 90ft conifer. Its a lot safer now and I have more light in the garden...”
“The boys did an excellent job... pruned my trees back and remove one tree that had split...”
“The guys were prompt & proffesional removed an old ash for me thanks guys”
Yes, as long as access is safe. We look at ground conditions, overhead lines and nearby livestock before quoting. Larger trees may need more time and equipment, and we will explain this plainly on the visit.
It depends on its condition and position. A sound willow can be reduced repeatedly, but a split or hollow one close to a building or road is safer removed. We inspect it and give a straightforward recommendation.
Many trees can be worked on throughout the year, but nesting birds and wet ground influence timing. Late summer and winter are often convenient. Tell us your concern and we will suggest a sensible window.
